It is an absolute joy to be with the Claiborne residents on the third Sunday of each month. It is a sweet time of song, prayer, and a brief devotion. As always, we are glad to reconnect with our own church members who now live there, but we are equally glad to meet other residents.
 
This past Sunday was such a blessed time. It was warm and cozy inside and most of the residents had no idea how cold it was outside. It was something to see the expressions on their faces as we talked about the weather as well as other things. The joy continued as we joined our hearts and voices in song. Christopher did a great job, as always, leading us in song and the residents were willing participants. It was so neat to watch the faces of those present as they also responded to the brief devotion. They were most grateful for the opportunity to worship together. It mattered not what denomination – it mattered that they were together in worship.
 
I was especially moved by one sweet lady as she made her way to me once we were done. She wanted to look at my Bible. When done, she commented on last month’s devotion and what it had meant to her. She was fascinated to hear of the Season of Lent – she was eager to know more. Now, to think that she remembered what I said last month was simply amazing to me. I hardly remember what I say a day or two ago. I simply trust the Holy Spirit was at work in her precious life.
 
This ministry is such a joy, and I am so grateful for our faithful church members who join us for this special time. It may be brief in time, but it is worship and it is very, very good!! I extend an invitation to others to come and be a part.. Meet us at the Claiborne on the the 3^rd Sunday of each month at 4:00 in the afternoon.
