ANSWER APRIL’S QUESTION

Launch of the New Disability Strategy

Essex County Council and the Meaningful Lives Matter team would like to invite adults with disabilities and families and carers to the official launch of the New Disability Strategy
Please forward this invite on to the people your organisation supports who have experience of disability.

We are now ready to share our new disability strategy that sets out what we will do to support people with learning disabilities and/or Autism, sensory impairment and physical disabilities over the next four years to help them to live the best life they can. This will be a great opportunity to share your thoughts about how we can turn the ideas within the strategy into actions and plans.

We are already helping lots of people in Essex to live the best life they can. We need to make sure this is the case for every person. We want to help people get what they want and expect from their lives. To do this we will support each person by understanding who they are and what they might need across the whole of their life.

Having now reviewed the valuable feedback from our consultation, this has been used this to inform the final version of the Disability Strategy which will be presented publicly for the first time.

The event will be held on Monday 15th May 2023 from 10am – 2pm.

We have more to offer…

WE ASKED, YOU SAID….

Our question of the month is a way of capturing a  snapshot of data and insight into a specific subject or service from our families across Essex. These are some of our findings. Our findings ensure our family carer’s voices are included to shape what future services look like for our families.
