1. Dates to Remember

Plant and take care of trees on Saturday 15th April (This Saturday!)

We will be planting and taking care of fruit trees at Trotshill Community Orchrd on Saturday 15th April from 10am to 1pm. Please bring a spade, secateurs, loppers and pruning saws, if you have them. We will supply the biscuits!

Traditional Orchards are fantastic havens for wildlife and special places for us to enjoy. There are a few magnificent Worcester Black Pear trees there that are just a joy to behold.

Wild about Worcester Way Launch on Saturday 13th May

This is the really big event so many volunteers have been working so hard for a long time, so please join us for a wonderful morning of events starting at 10am at Worcester Woods Country Park. There will be videos, awards a guided walk and the mayor will be cutting the ribbon at 11am. The guided walk will be from 11.30 and will go along Wild about Worcester Way to the beautiful 12th century St Nicholas Church where there will be refreshments and an opportunity for a short outdoor celebratory service for anyone who wishes to participate.

2. The progress of Wild about Worcester Way

It very much feels like we are on the last leg of a long journey. One last push and we will be ready for the Wild about Worcester Way launch on 13th May.

Just a reminder of why we are creating the Wild about Worcester Way. As a charity we have three main aims: (a) To enhance the biodiversity of Worcester and environs (b) help residents understand and (c) connect with nature. This new wildlife corridor will play a central part in all three of these aims.

  1. We are launching the route on Saturday 13th May at Worcester Woods Country Park. Please join us for this very special event.

  2. The way marking has got off to a flying start with the majority of the way markers already having gone up all along the Wild about Worcester Way. Have you seen any of them yet, <<First Name>>? We even got in the Worcester news.

  3. Our amazing WEG wood carving volunteers have just about finished carving the beautiful images on the way marker posts of the winners of the primary school art competition. Thank you to all the special volunteers who have made this possible.

  4. Ringway Worcestershire are going to be installing some of the wooden way markers for free. A big thank you. We still need help from volunteers to install another 25 wooden way marker posts. Please email us, if you are available to help.

  5. We had a pop up Wild about Worcester Way promotional event on the River Severn with the Big Green Hike. Lots of interest from residents and visitors.

  6. Two more beautiful wooden benches have been made from scratch and installed on the Wild about Worcester Way by our team of dedicated volunteers.
