As we’ve been focusing on “Reconnect” this year as a community, we’ve also had the pleasure of reconnecting with many former students who have returned for a visit. We’ve met alumni from the 1970s, the 1980s, and the early 2000s, all of whom have amazing stories of how their lives have progressed since leaving. Many have also written to us, sharing their experiences and how Dalat shaped them into who they are today. Dalat graduates have gone on to become doctors and nurses, missionaries, engineers, teachers, software developers, professors, lawyers, authors, artists, scientists, foreign workers, etc., living and working all over the world.

When asked how they feel Dalat prepared them for the future, this is what they said:

  • “I think that Dalat gave me an excellent education. I particularly appreciated the spiritual part of my life at Dalat.” – Deb Discher (Rexilius), Class of 1975
  • “Dalat provided a high level of education. I established a good work and study ethic. I was also able to participate in a variety of quality extracurricular activities, which shaped me into a well-rounded person.” – Sharilyn McClaflin (Stubbs), Class of 1995
  • “Dalat gave me a solid base of spiritual and educational knowledge to tackle the complex world we live in. My teachers and dorm parents loved me and helped me grow into the person I am today.” – Nathan Danneker, Class of 2012
  • “Dalat was the first place that I'd found real community and deep friendships in a long time. Being able to lean on those people for support really helped me grow as an individual and student and then, in turn, be someone that could support others too.” – Joshua Peace, Class of 2008
We’ve heard incredible memories from former students of their time here, and many of them talk about friendships that have lasted over the years. It’s a joy to see the legacy of Dalat continue through students who are now in every corner of the world.

Our alumni are a key part of our identity, and we are looking forward to making more connections between current and former students. Our past, present, and future are in these stories, and we’re excited to see the continued impact of Dalat students in the world.

Jumpa Lagi T-Shirts

What are Jumpa Lagi shirts? Dalat has a big tradition that helps our community say “goodbyes” in healthy ways. Those who are returning to Dalat next year are wearing black “Jumpa Lagi” (Bahasa for "see you again") t-shirts, and those leaving are wearing white “Selamat Tinggal” ("farewell") t-shirts. These 2023 "JumpaLagi" shirts can be worn Fridays during Quarter 4 with full-length blue jeans (no holes or rips) or school uniform bottoms. (Girls may wear calf-length capris).

Exchanges: Please check your t-shirt order. During our first round of orders, some sizes were inaccurate. We apologize for the inconveniences this has caused. By Friday, April 14, please bring your packaged unworn t-shirts to Mrs. Parsley in the Student Center, and we get you the correct size.

Didn't order yet? By popular demand, we are ordering more shirts. Please order shirts by Sunday, April 16 at midnight. Note: to ensure size accuracy, we will measure shirt widths before delivering to lockers. Sizing Tip: Lay a favorite fitting t-shirt flat on a table. In inches, measure the t-shirt straight across from underarm to underarm. Double the width to calculate the size.

RM28 will be charged to your school account for each shirt ordered. Please fill out one order per person.

*This is a Junior Class fundraiser. Thanks for the awesome design this year!

2022-2023 Yearbooks for Sale

2022-2023 앨범 판재     购买2022-2023 学校年册

Yearbooks are an American tradition dating back to 1806. They are essentially a “memory book” which highlights students, staff, and events that take place during a given school year. At Dalat, the yearbook’s theme is always a tightly held secret until its distribution day, but what we do know is that it will return to a hardback form this year and cover elementary, middle, and high school – including school portraits as well as photos and articles about academics, sports, groups, and school life topics. Our yearbook will give students the opportunity to ask their friends and teachers to “sign their yearbooks” with comments or other personal messages. These books will likely serve as a physical reminder of the 2022-2023 School Year for decades to come.

Important: There is only one way to get a copy: please order via this link before Friday, April 28. There will not be another opportunity to purchase. The cost is RM68, and it will be automatically charged to your school account. Book delivery will be toward the end of the school year in late May.

The IMPACT Report

IMPACT 보고서 (달랏 봉사학습 보고서)
IMPACT报告 (志愿者服务项目报告)

Dalat IMPACT Service-Learning program offers great opportunities for high school students to experience authentic transformation through service-learning. During Spring Break, we took our second round of IMPACT trips for the school year. Two teams, with 29 students and five teachers, went to West Java and North Borneo on the first week of the break. These IMPACT trips connected students with local organizations that hosted sports and cultural education programs. Our students were able to serve youth, orphans, special needs families, and other local not-for-profit organizations.

IMPACT participants will share a bit of their journey during a special IMPACT Friday Chapel early next month. Thank you again for your kind prayers and support, as we truly could not have done it without everyone involved with the program.

Safety During the Marina Construction
중학교 빌딩 공사 기간내 안전관련사항     新中学建筑施工中的安全问题

We are excited to announce that construction on the Marina has officially started! While this is an exciting time, we have some reminders for our entire community:

  • Most construction vehicles will enter and exit the construction zone outside of school hours and through upper field. However, students and visitors should practice vigilance with their surroundings at all times and stay away from vehicles and equipment.

  • Please stay out of the construction zone. Note where walkways and areas are blocked off and do not access those areas.

  • Watch for trucks and vehicles when you are crossing a road.

  • Be kind and respectful to workers and let them focus on their job.

  • Keep a distance from the construction walls. Do not kick balls or play games in those areas.

  • Help everyone stay safe! Help younger students stay safe, remind your friends to follow the rules, and set a good example for others.

In addition to these safety rules, we are also increasing security in and around the construction area. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your principal.
