Over Spring Break, 16 seniors from BOYCP took a journey to Greece. Accompanying students on the trip were Principal Brekke, Assistant Principal Laurel and BOYCP Teacher Alejandra Moreno. Starting in Athens, students had the opportunity to visit such sites as the Acropolis Museum, Plaka area, Delphi, Meteora Region, Kalabaka, Dion and Mount Olympus. The trip ended with a festive dinner in Athens where students enjoyed local cuisine and danced the Zebekiko.
Durante las vacaciones de primavera, 16 estudiantes del último año de BOYCP viajaron a Grecia. Acompañaron a los estudiantes en el viaje la directora Brekke, la subdirectora Laurel y la maestra de BOYCP, Alejandra Moreno. Comenzando en Atenas, los estudiantes tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar sitios como el Museo de la Acrópolis, el área de Plaka, Delphi, la región de Meteora, Kalabaka, Dion y el Monte Olimpo. Each spring, rising juniors and seniors at Chicago Public Schools have the opportunity to apply to become an Honorary CPS Student Board Member for the following school year. Applicants are considered based on past leadership experience and essays. The individual chosen for the role will gain invaluable leadership experience, receive a $1,000 scholarship toward their college education, and play an important part in shaping the future of the District. Chicago Public Schools (CPS) today announced that it will host five virtual meetings next week to engage communities on capital priorities as the District works to develop its Fiscal Year 2024 Capital Plan. The capital plan is a part of the District’s overall budget that will be presented to the Board of Education later this summer. The meetings which will be led by various CPS departments are intended to provide communities with an understanding of the District’s capital planning process and help the District prioritize critical capital needs. Families that are interested in learning more about the capital plan can register to attend using the link below.

Have you activated your CPS Parent Portalaccount? Do you need assistance with logging into your Parent Portal account? The CPS Parent Portal is a convenient way to check your student’s grade, attendance and establish a line of communication with teachers. Parents who utilize the portal can set up email and text message alerts about their student’s grade and attendance. Parents can email Assistant Principal Walker at slwalker@cps.edu to get support with your accessing Parent Portal accounts.
