 ANNOUNCEMENTS

April 16, 2023

WELCOME!  If you are a visitor or new to Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church—we’re glad you’re here. Worship at our church is a joyful, prayerful, music-filled, traditional and modern experience. We worship to glorify God and build up the community of believers to live in this world as followers of Jesus Christ.

The 8:30 am traditional service meets in Sanner Chapel, immediately inside the front entrance of the church. Our second service, The Gathering, takes place at 9:30 am in Asbury Center. Our traditional 10:45 am service is in the Sanctuary and is livestreamed on our website, Facebook and YouTube. You can also access the livestream by clicking here

For more information:  www.mlumc.org or 412-531-7131.
The church office will close at 1:30pm today, Friday, April 14th.
Call for Plastic Grocery Bags

Please consider donating any extra bags you have after your next shopping trip to be reused in this positive way!
On distribution days, the Food Pantry puts these plastic bags over the brown paper bags that contain the food being delivered to families. This makes the bags sturdier and easier to carry.
The Food Pantry is in need of plastic grocery bags, preferably white or blue (Walmart/ Giant Eagle).

Good Friday Community Fish Fry
Nourishes Body, Mind, and Spirit

Rob Spicher, Community Events and Outreach Committee Chair

Our Good Friday Community Fish Fry was, to put it mildly, a resounding success.  The 700 meals served (eat-in, take-out, delivery) were a record.  For the first time that I can remember, we almost ran out of some items! Both Asbury Center and Wesley Hall were packed with diners throughout much of the evening.  Communion elements administered by Pastor Tom, a prayer station staffed by Pastor Scott, and a piano played by Music Director Mitchell ensured a meaningful yet entertaining evening for all.  Hospitality and fellowship abounded!
Special thanks to the leadership team of Donna Chesleigh (with husband Alan), Liz DiPietro (with husband Tom), Linh Quach (with husband Dave), and Matt Baker for pulling everything together to ensure a first-class experience. A big expression of gratitude to Don Langston and the Food Lift, whose generous donations of bread and desserts helped not only to keep out-of-pocket costs down but also provide a wide variety of items from which to partake.  Appreciation also to Tom Wagner for composing a meaningful Easter message, Office and Communications Coordinator Kate for handling advance publicity and same day messaging, and Weekday Ministries for giving away children’s books. And last, but certainly not least, thanks to the financial donors whose generosity enabled all costs to be covered.  Thanks be to God!

Every Sunday there are three opportunities to enhance our 10:45 service for in person and online worship: house slides, sound, and livestream attendants.  Starting in April, we desire to have a rotating schedule that would only require commitment for one Sunday a month.  Training is simple and available by just sitting with the team in the balcony.  Specific training times can also be set up by request.
No previous experience is necessary. Please contact the church office to join the digital worship team!
