On Thursday, April 13, join Visit Lake County for its free quarterly partner forum at 9 a.m. at The Temporary by American Place in Waukegan. This forum kicks off our eighth installment of Lake County Restaurant Week: Ten Days to Savor at participant Asia-Azteca Restaurant inside the new casino.
Attendees can arrive at 8:30 a.m. for registration, networking and breakfast. The program from 9-10 a.m. will highlight our celebrated foodie week and recent and upcoming VLC sales and marketing initiatives. We will also hear from the staff with The Temporary by American Place.

Lake County Restaurant Week: Ten Days to Savor kicks off April 14-23.
The 10-day foodie flagship program highlights 80 restaurants with special prix fixe menus, food and drink pairings, live entertainment and other fun promotions to attract new guests and generate awareness.
The eighth installment of the fare frenzy revolves around supporting local restaurants. The focus is encouraging residents to generate foot traffic to the cuisine makers in their hometowns and across the land of lakes.
Lake County Restaurant Week: Ten Days to Savor allows diners to CHECK IN TO WIN. The contest features various foodie prizes and a chance to win an overnight/theatre package at Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, Marriott Theatre and Three Embers Restaurant or Wright's Brew & Bistro, a cooking class at The Joyful Gourmet in Libertyville and a gift card to a participating eatery. Here's how you enter:
- Aim your smartphone camera at the participating eatery's QR code on the table tent or visit our LCRW landing page (coming soon).
- Enroll for mobile deals, a list of participating locations and complete details.
- Follow instructions to "check in" at over 80 land of lakes restaurants (once per location).
- Check-in at three or more locations to be eligible to win
The VLC extensive multi-platform campaign runs on various mediums, including digital, TV, radio, print and banner ads. The foodie initiative is also highlighted by seven web pages, a collection of fare-themed blogs, local restaurant videos and various photo galleries featuring the land of lakes eats. Some of the media outlets where you can view and hear about Lake County Restaurant Week include the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, Pandora Radio, WBBM Radio 780 AM, WGN Radio 720 AM, WTMX-FM 101.9 (101.9 The Mix) and WRME-FM 87.7 (MeTV-FM).
VLC has partnered with WXLC-FM 102.3 (102.3XLC), WIIL-FM 95.1 (95 WIIL ROCK), WKRS-AM 1220 (TUDN 1220) and renowned Chicagoland meteorologist and Lake County dweller Mike Caplan to host a series of Facebook Live videos. In addition, the land of lakes bureau also showcases a series of Instagram takeovers by Lake County foodie influencers. Corked provides a friendly space to enjoy an extensive selection of wines from around the world, a menu featuring amazing food and great conversation. Located in Historic Downtown Long Grove, their wines can be enjoyed on its large patio, incredible lawn and its comfortable and cozy indoor seating.

Jerk N' More Too serves authentic Jamaican cuisine and comfort food. Specializing in mouthwatering, award-winning jerk chicken, curry chicken, oxtails, tacos and scratch-made side items i.e. macaroni and cheese, candy yams, cabbage, rice and peas, plus desserts.

The most accurate La Mera Mera Taqueria translation that comes to mind is "The One and Only," The menu is unique for its elite tacos which pull original recipes from the southeast Pacific side of Mexico and central and northern regions' cuisine from the aforementioned country. The menu also features tortas, burritos, enchiladas and more.

Marigold Maison serves delectable Indian cuisine. Executive Chef Sunil provides diners with a culinary passport to India. The innovative menu features authentic Indian flavors and favorites like chicken tikka, pani puri, samosas and their famous Tandoori oven delicacies.

Whistle Stop Cafe first opened in Fox Lake in 1996. Recently in June 2022, the Restaurant was sold to its 3rd owner. The current owners are also the proud owners of Hickory Knoll Golf Course in Lake Villa, Bob's Marina in Antioch, and Red School Cafe in Bristol, WI. Located only a short walk from the Metra Train line in downtown Fox Lake. The unique decor, location and atmosphere set the tone for the small-town, quaint diner feel.
