Jenny Tandoc, SFL Social Media/Marketing Intern | | Recap of Homecoming UCI 2023 | | | | Recap of AFLVWest 2023 | This year, UCI delegation took 14 students to the AFLVWest conference that takes place annually in Anaheim, CA between the three councils. AFLV (Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values) exists to accelerate progress in fraternity/sorority communities through change-enabling experiences. During this weekend long conference, students learned how to be stronger and better leaders and the core things to do to maintain and build their organizations. | | | Service with SFL | Please remember to submit a form of your organization participating in any philanthropic or service event with pictures included. | | PHA | KAPPA ALPHA THETA A Home 4 Ever Rescue Dog Shelter - Jan 28 Orangewood Children’s Home - Feb 9

| | | By Sydney Schapansky, 2023 PHA President irvinepanhellenic.president@gmail.com |
I am Sydney Schapansky, the President of the Panhellenic Association here at UC Irvine. Having served as the VP Finance last year, I got to witness firsthand the dedication and hard work put in by the executive board to keep the PHA and SFL community engaged, enthusiastic, and informed. It was inspiring to see the difference we can make as a community, and I knew I wasn’t ready to retire yet. As President, my first goal was to increase involvement with the board and our programs. Our executive board members strive to organize events that are not only exciting and inspiring, but also educational and supportive. Additionally, we wanted to find new ways to connect with the greater Irvine community. Through the promotion and recognition of philanthropy, as well as the planning of new, service-based events, Panhellenic has already begun to establish roots in the community with prospective outlets for service. When I first met my executive board, I was impressed by their passion and commitment. Each member came with ideas for new programs and workshops, and a desire to support and give back to their community. Our executive board has already made several changes to better reflect the desires of the community, including amending our bylaws, implementing new programs for diversity, equity, and inclusion and risk management, and advancing new strategies for financial transparency amongst chapters. |
| | I am so proud of the Panhellenic executive board and all of the work they have done so far, and I am excited to see what they have in store for the rest of our term! As we move forward, I look forward to attending the SFL Awards to recognize and celebrate the efforts of the Panhellenic and SFL community. To say I am honored to lead the Panhellenic community is an understatement. I am inspired by the passion and dedication of the members and grateful for the opportunity to serve and work alongside such talented and committed individuals. I am excited for all that we will accomplish together! |

| | Advancing together. Those are the first words that come to my mind when I think about what IFC represents to me. As I enter the spring quarter of my 3rd year as a biological sciences major and my second quarter as IFC president here on campus, I find I have a lot to look forward to. Joining campus leadership wasn’t something that I originally planned to do when air arrived at the UCI campus, but after joining my fraternity, @kappasigmairvine , I found that there is a larger purpose for me, one of involvement and service. As I watch my friends work hard everyday to not only benefit themselves, but also to raise up our brotherhood, school, and larger community, I am inspired to work harder myself. Advancing together. That is what I believe the larger purpose of IFC is: coming together in order to advance our community as well as ourselves. During my presidency, our board is looking forward to working with affiliated chapter organizations to perform philanthropic works, hold career workshops, connect to greater alumni networks and hopefully help to grow the IFC population. Each of these events is aimed to unite organizations under IFC and help to develop members into people ready and capable of sustaining and contributing to communities at large. |

Delegate Meetings : Every Wednesday @ 12pm, Ring Room Triangle Founders Day : April 15 FIJI Founders Day : May 1 | | | By April Nguyen, MSFC President irvinemsfc.president@gmail.com | | Hello again!! My name is April Nguyen and I’m currently serving as MSFC President. I hope everyone had a good fall and winter quarter. As the year begins to wrap up, I want to say how proud I am of all of the sororities and fraternities that have done such hard work this quarter. Being part of the MSFC Executive Board has been an amazing experience and it has been such an honor to work with the Presidents and leadership of all of the MSFC organizations. I am happy to announce that a new fraternity has joined our council. I am excited to see them grow and hope you all give them a warm welcome. They are eager to integrate themselves into our council and feel free to reach out to them to collaborate and build connections. As a whole, I am glad to say that a majority of our fraternities and sororities are actively participating in MSFC Events, Risk Events, and the Violence Intervention and Prevention Program. All organizations will be tabling at UCI Care’s Annual Take Back the Night to educate and raise awareness about Violence Intervention and Prevention Program. I am looking forward to seeing everyone’s tables and activities. To the next MSFC Executive Board and all of the MSFC organizations, I wish you the very best in growing your individual organizations and helping to build the success of the council as a whole. You all can do amazing work together and I look forward to seeing it. | Upcoming MSFC Events
