The Barrington Public Library Trustees are pleased to announce that Elizabeth Bolton of Rochester joined the staff as the Library’s new Director on April 3. Liz comes to Barrington from the Blaisdell Memorial Library in Nottingham, where she served as Library Director since 2019. Holding a master's degree in library science from Simmons College, she brings over 20 years of experience working in libraries in various capacities, including as information and reference librarian and children’s librarian, and has worked in management positions in large and small libraries since 2016.
Liz looks forward to building on the library’s current programming activities and working with the community to lead the library into the future. “I am particularly excited to participate in the efforts to expand the library’s space and services to best meet the needs of this growing community,” says Liz.
The Friends of the Barrington Library is hosting an Open House at the Library on Saturday, April 15 from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM when the public can meet her.
