If you are interested in seeing the play Rent at the Paper Mill Playhouse on Sunday, July 2, please sign up on the sheet in the narthex. Tickets are $73, and checks can be made payable to      "Kathy McFarland." Please have your check to Kathy by May 28.         If you have any questions, please call Kathy on her cell phone at 973-769-4184.

Loosely based on Puccini’s La Bohème, Jonathan Larson’s Rent follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York City’s Lower East Side in the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent has become a pop cultural phenomenon, with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.

Do ya like baseball?

Brian Eberly, a former TLC member, is head coach of Drew University's baseball team. On Sunday, April 30, at noon, Drew plays Susquehanna University at home in Madison, NJ. If you are interested in attending, please contact Cliff Rollins. Admission is free! Pastor Fred promises worship will be concluded in time to get a good seat.

Food and fellowship

Men of Trinity are welcome to join us on Thursday, April 27, at 11:30 a.m. at the Town Square Diner for lunch. If you know you will be there, let Pastor Fred or Neil Holtzman know. If you are not sure, just show up. We're informal that way.
Dear Trinity Lutheran Church,

Thank you for your gift of $820 to Lutheran Disaster Response.
Bring us, O Christ, to share the fullness of your joy;
baptize us in the risen life that death cannot destroy.  ELW 328

This is a season of reflection and sacrifice, but also a season of hope. As we walk the 40-day journey of Lent, we know that we are walking toward Easter and the promise of renewal. Your gifts to the ministries of the ELCA are bringing that promise and hope to your neighbors around the world.

Your Spirit-filled generosity is helping families and communities reeling from disasters. No matter the variety of disaster, no matter the variety of need, your gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response enable people to rebuild their lives and livelihoods now and far into the future.

You are creating new beginnings. Thank you for sharing the hope of new life and the fullness of Christ's joy.

In Christ,

Amanda White

Bike adventures this spring

We have two bike trips scheduled for this spring. Both are perfect for people just returning to bike riding after some time away, whether that be this past winter or several winters.

In Long Valley

On Saturday April 29, we will ride the Columbia Trail, starting in Long Valley. We will gather at 10 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church's parking lot, a very short ride from the trail, then head south. The going is flat, and you can turn around when you have had enough. You will have to bring your own bike for this one.

Lunch
– There are places to grab a bite in Califon, or back where we start in Long Valley.

Please let Pastor Fred know you plan to attend, so we can be sure everyone has arrived before we head out.

At Duke Farms

On Friday, May 18, the Fellowship Team is organizing a bike adventure at Duke Farms, 1112 Dukes Parkway West, Hillsborough, NJ 08844. The group will meet in the orientation center's parking lot at 10 a.m. Bring your own bike, or rent one on site for $8 for two hours. The bike rental is located three-quarters of a mile from the orientation center, inside the core property, under a large tent. The staff has helmets for your use, which is a requirement for using the bikes. If you don't want to ride bikes, walking the paved trails is an option to explore as well.

Lunch
After our adventure, we plan to picnic, but if you would like another option, there is the Farm Barn Café, a casual dining spot with sandwiches, salads and such.

Check out the website to get more details:

An Easter greeting from Pastor Lilja

In this week's advocacy article, Pastor Lilja asks us to "refresh our spirits and look with hopefulness and optimism towards the advocacy work of the new season!"

Take action: It's not too late to send an ELCA Good Gifts Easter Card.
Hot Topics in New Jersey:
  • Transgender Justice
  • Economic Justice – Brainstorming solutions to address the teacher shortage in New Jersey
Thank you, Pastor Lilja, for reminding us to renew our resolve to be advocates, not only for ourselves, but for those who need our help, our voice, and our action. Click here for more information.
