"Berkshire Opera Festival's 'To Paris with Love' celebrates the city's inspirational impact on artists"
The Eagle spoke with BOF Artistic Director and Co-Founder Brian Garman andbaritone Yazid Gray, one of the artists who will be featured in "To Paris with Love." Brian was quoted as saying, “Paris, and the idea of Paris, inspired a lot of composers, not just Puccini. I’ve tried to put together a program that features a lot of people’s old favorites alongside perhaps lesser-known selections that might become new favorites.” And Yazid added, "You want to make the audience forget that they’re in a recital setting . . . It’s a matter of how much heart you put into it.”
In addition to Yazid, the afternoon concert will feature soprano Amanda Batista, who Opera News has said "is destined for big theaters"; tenor Ryan Capozzo, who Opera News says is “generating genuine drama” on the stage; and pianist Francesco Barfoed, a rising Danish star who has twice won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions.
