  - Calling All ALUMNI!
We are looking to connect with all FIRST alumni, from any program -  including this year's seniors! Please email alumni@kyfirstrobotics.org with your name, email address, team number & name, and your final competition year and we will add you to our database. We are planning some really cool events that we want you to be a part of!  You don't want to miss out on these opportunities! 


-NEW TEAMS for next season
 If you know of anyone interested in starting a new team on ANY level for next season, please have them reach out to us at info@kyfirstrobotics.org and we will help guide them through the process and connect them with any rookie grants that may be available!  
 

FLL NEWS:
Congratulations again for a wonderful FLL season and to all of participants, coaches, mentor, families and sponsors who make it all happen!  

Good luck to teams who are still competing in events they qualified for at the FLL State Competition:

16878 Rare S.T.E.A.K.S. advancing to FIRST's World Championship in Houston, Texas
45425 Those Guys at Trinity Christian advancing to Western Edge Open in Long Beach, CA
56897 Heroic Hornets advancing to Liberty Science Center FLL Challenge in Jersey City, NJ
53976 PowerCats advancing to Razorback Open Invitational at University of Arkansas in Fayetteville 31617 Robo-Troopers advancing to WPI FLL Open in Worcester, MA


****BIG NEWS****
Thanks to a very generous grant from Johnson & Johnson, ALL Kentucky FLL Challenge and Explore teams that competed this season and register again next season will receive funding to help offset your expenses!

FLL Explore teams will receive $50
FLL Challenge teams will receive $100

A huge thank you to Johnson & Johnson for supporting STEM Education for KY youth!!!!! All FLL teams will receive a survey in the next few weeks that will allow your team to receive this grant. Any questions about this grant can be sent to kelli@kyfirstrobotics.org

Although this fantastic season has come to and end for most teams, we also know that many teams are planning outreach events and off-season events.  Please share those with us so we can help spread the word via our social media platforms.  Submit information to info@kyfirstrobotics.org

Kentucky FRC teams did a fantastic job representing our state in 4 different regional events!

Special congratulations go out to:
Team 3817 PiBotics for winning the Team Sustainability Award at the Buckeye Regional

Team 9152 Rat Fight for winning the Rookie All Star Award at the Smoky Mountain Regional They also received
 a Wild Card bid to the World Tournament in Houston, TX

The following dates have been released for the upcoming world tournaments for the next two seasons!
2023: April 19-23, 2023
2024: April 17-20, 2024

Please note that there will only be one world tournament for both seasons. They will both take place in Houston, TX!

2023-24 Season Dates:
FTC Kickoff   Saturday, September 7, 2023 at noon
FTC Kentucky State Championship  Saturday, February 17, 2023 at the University of Kentucky

 

 



KY teams do not need to set up their own non-profit in order to accept donations!  Kentucky FIRST Robotics is a registered non-profit. We can work with you to accept donations on your behalf, which we can do at little or no cost to you. For more information send an email to kelli@kyfirstrobotics.org.

If your team has some news or an event to share, please email info@kyfirstrobotics.org with the details and we will do our best to share here in the Newsletter and on our website and social media.

 

- Team Resources  
There is a wealth of knowledge and helpful information located in the FIRST Resource Library.  If you need help starting a team flyer, work on fundraising or help with programming it is there along with lots of other helpful information.  Check it out at:  https://www.firstinspires.org/resource-library



-Another great source for information are the Share and Learn Facebook pages.  There is one for each program FLL Explore through FRC.  This started out as a outreach project for a team but has really grown to be a wonderful resource for teams.  Be sure to check it out!
