Applicants needed ►The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) meets every other year in even-numbered years. It consists of commissioners – teaching elders (ministers) and ruling elders (active on session or not) and Young Adult Advisory Delegates (either ordained or not) – elected by each of the PC(USA)'s 173 presbyteries. At its August 22, 2023 Stated Meeting, the Presbytery of Florida will elect one teaching elder and one ruling elder commissioner and one alternate for each, and one YAAD to the next General Assembly, the 226th, to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, June 25 - July 4, 2024. All teaching elders, ruling elders, and young adults in our presbytery (at least 18 but not more than 23 years old at the time of GA) may apply to serve. The GA is full of activities: business sessions, committee meetings, daily worship services, and mission tours. The GA and the presbytery pay or reimburse nearly all of the expenses of GA service. Click here to download the application form. Please share it within your congregation! Application deadline: June 30, 2023.
►When the General Assembly establishes groups to work on particular projects or topics, the persons serving on these special entities are appointed by the GA Co-Moderators. The process of gathering names of those interested in being appointed is managed by the General Assembly Nominating Committee, who are careful to seek a skilled, committed, diverse membership.
