Hi there,

When I first taught Traumatic Stress & the Breath with Jane Clapp, we both knew that it was important ground work, but that there was more to be unearthed, explored, experienced.

The models of nervous system regulation and trauma recovery that are popular in the movement world are overly simplistic. A series of complex, inter-related  human systems are condensed down to a few “hacks”, simple tricks you can use to “fix” your body, breath, and mind. Some of the scientific models that are relied on are, upon examination, poorly researched. And much of it has reduced humans down to the image of a computer, instead of the living, breathing, complex organism, missing the point of what it is to be alive.

Laura Beth Wenger, my wonderful friend and colleague, and I have been frustrated with the dogma and rigidity of these paradigms. So we’ve created a different model, breathing new life into the understanding and practices at the intersection of Trauma and Breathing. We’ve been inspired by Iain McGilchrist, adrienne maree brown, researchers Thayer and Lane, a post-it note on my bedside table, and our many combined years of practice, study, and our work with other humans.

Re-Inspired: A Somatic Study of Traumatic Stress & the Breath

Join Laura and me for 4 weeks in May. There will be 4 webinars on Wednesday evenings (7–8pm ET). As well, because the experience is so important, there will be 4 short weekday morning practices between each webinar (Thurs, Fri, Mon, Tues, 7:30–7:45am ET).

Of course, everything will be recorded and available for viewing through the end of June.

We’re so excited to share this new material with you. I hope that you’ll join us.

Warmly,
Jennifer
