Call for pre-proposals
The TomKat Center for Sustainable Energy is issuing this call for pre-proposals for its spring 2023 Innovation Transfer Program awards. Interested applicants should submit a pre-proposal by April 25, 2023 for consideration spring quarter. This Program assists Stanford University faculty, staff, and students in commercializing breakthrough technologies and innovations in sustainability by providing pivotal seed grants.
Applicants should have an invention or product concept that impacts sustainable energy or sustainable resource utilization and is at a reasonably advanced stage of development. The awards are intended to bridge the gap between government support for basic research and private-sector funding by providing support for prototype development, market research, and other commercialization activities. The Program will help participants develop a more business-centric approach to identify potential markets and applications of their concepts through close linkages with relevant Stanford University entrepreneurship resources. It will also provide access to domain experts including successful entrepreneurs, executives with experience in startups, and venture investors. Mentors are matched with each funded project to provide the team with ongoing guidance as they assess market opportunities and explore the commercialization of their inventions.
