Vulkan Documentation Project Demo
The Vulkan team at Khronos is working on a better way to present Vulkan documentation and there is an early implementation ready for public comment. The goal is to provide a single site with a consistent, easy to use UI for relevant Vulkan documentation including the specification, proposals, and the Vulkan Guide.
Please check out the site at https://registry.khronos.org/vulkan/site/spec/latest/index.html and provide feedback by raising issues on the Vulkan-site repository at https://github.com/KhronosGroup/Vulkan-Site/issues/new. At this time, we are most interested in feedback on site usability.

Khronos is Hiring
The Khronos Group is seeking a Conformance Test Suite (CTS) Technical Lead for Vulkan. Conformance testing is a critical part of the Vulkan and OpenGL/OpenGL ES ecosystems, ensuring that implementations of these APIs are held up to rigorous standards and will function correctly even in the corner cases. Comprehensive conformance testing is also a requirement to ratify or release new features. The CTS task sub-group (TSG) delivers this critical component and the successful candidate will be a key person in driving this activity. Learn more
In addition, Khronos is seeking a Regional Business Development Director for Japan. This roll involves working closely with Khronos staff to proactively engage with member companies and targeted organizations in order to grow awareness of Khronos technologies and ensure Japanese members are fully supported and regularly involved in driving Khronos standards. Ultra Engine glTF Extensions
Ultra Engine plans to use glTF for their main 3D model file format so that final game models can be easily loaded back into a modeling program for editing whenever needed. glTF supports a wide range of useful features and is widely supported, but there are a few missing pieces of information Ultra Engine need to add into it. Fortunately, this JSON-based file format has a mechanism for extensions that adds new features and data to the format. In this blog, the custom extensions added for Ultra Engine are explained. Present at Future glTF Meetups
May 2, June 6, & July 11, 2023
These unique Khronos led events provide 3D developers and animators an opportunity to meet up and learn how to get the most from using the glTF 3D format in their applications, products, and tools. Each event includes three or four speakers who showcase their use of glTF, as well as sharing any advice they have on best practices and tools. Sessions conclude with an open “Ask the Experts” Q&A. Virtual meetups are FREE to attend (registration required).
We are inviting anyone who would like to share their experiences of using glTF to submit a short proposal:
- Content Creators (Developers and Artists) are invited to share details on any aspect of their glTF development (use case, asset creation pipeline, challenges faced, tips & techniques, etc.)
- Tool Vendors are invited to share the latest glTF tooling for asset creation and display
Live demonstrations are strongly encouraged, and speakers are generally given 10-15 minutes to speak, plus 5 minutes for Q&A.
