Greetings All,
I know we were just celebrating the House passing the Veterans Omnibus to floor, but apparently the Senate did not get the message. On Tuesday, April 18th, the Senate Finance Committee plans to roll the Veterans Omnibus into the monster that is the State Gov Omnibus, an omnibus filled with highly contentious issues that have nothing to do with Veterans, their families, and survivors.
I don't know if they think we can't get back into the fight this quickly, or maybe we're busy patting ourselves on the back, or that releasing the agenda after 5pm on a Friday won't leave us enough time to mobilize.. Whatever it is, it shows they clearly don't understand Veterans.
I am asking you to click this link and send a message to your State Senator this time. Share this email, ask your friends, family, acquaintances, enemies, anyone, to send this message. They don't need to be a Veteran.
Also, we need to get Chair John Marty of the Senate Finance Committee to understand we want his committee to send this to the floor stand alone. You can call his office and leave a message as simple as, "This is so-and-so, and I am asking for you to have your committee send the Veterans Omnibus Bill to the Senate floor stand alone."
