It has long been our tradition to send out a Wish List with things which our participants would be thrilled to be able to have/use/enjoy in the coming months. Last year it was all about Climate and greening our environment. The entire list was fufilled! (Many thanks!)
This year our focus is on our big girls: our "Waskubwa" who arrived rather unexpectedly in February. These are girls aged 14 to 21 who, by misfortune, were not permitted or unable to enter or continue secondary school. Our school was asked to be one of 311 schools in the country to participate in a World Bank funded, Tanzanian government administered alternative secondary school program.
We started with 24 girls last year. Here some are with Mary Liwa, the chairperson of our partnering society.
(You can see the girls' dorm in the background.)
