Over the years we've sung lots of songs. Perhaps none does a better job of pointing to our current season of life than Marty Haugen's hymn, "Let Us Build a House".
Let us build a house...where love can dwell
Let us build a house...of hopes and dreams
Let us build a house...where prophet speak
Let us build a house...where peace and justice meet
Let us build a house...to heal, strenghten, serve and teach.
Let us build a house...where the outcast and the stranger bear the image of God's face.
As we rehab our storefront and updated some of our living spaces, we also continue the work of building a community where, with the infusion of Divine Presence, all these things can grow in the work, sweat, prayers, tears and laughter of the day to day. May God use the new space being built to grow our capacity to sing, ALL are welcome, ALL are welcome, ALL are welcome in this place.

STOREFRONT PROJECT UPDATE
|
|
|
|
If you didn't hear, we raised $190,000 for our storefront project. Beyond what we imagined! What's next? Finalize drawings, navigate codes process, obtain building permits
and hire contractors. We hope to start construction in August! We are grateful for God's provision.
The need to welcome Christ-the-stranger, clothe the
naked, feed the hungry as Christ with dignity
and acceptance, grows great as our world becomes
harsher. Easter reminds us that in the breaking
of bread, we experience a mystical encounter that transforms those willing to take a seat at the table.

GETTING RID OF GENTLY USED FURNITURE?
|
|
|
After 3 years, resident leaders Luis Lara and Ray
Callahan have moved into one of our apartments. We have been upgrading them slowly. In 2021 several churches donated funds to help us rehab the kitchen and update the appliances. This winter we redid main floors. Thanks to all who contributed to the labor and the funds to create a warmer space to call home.
We now need living room furniture! If you have couches, chairs, lamps, coffee or end tables, please let us know.
