➤ What is the aim?

As part of the EU Cancer Mission, the EUonQoL project stands for Quality of Life in Oncology: measuring what matters for cancer patients and survivors in Europe. To improve quality of life, EUonQoL aims to develop, pilot-test and implement the EUonQoL-Kit.

This toolkit will be a unified system for the assessment of quality of life based on existing questionnaires, and evaluations and preferences of cancer patients and caregivers. Ultimately, the toolkit aims to be used all over in Europe from research to care and policy.

To give the patients’ perspective a central role in the development of this toolkit, patients and caregivers will be involved as co-researchers throughout all project- related activities.

➤ What to expect?

Before and during your participation as a co-researcher, you will be trained and supported by a dedicated team of researchers. Your time contribution to the project will be financially compensated. As a co-researcher you will have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers to co-design, co-write and co-lead research activities. This might include contributing to tasks such as:

  • Reviewing existing quality of life measurement tools;
  • Developing the EUonQoL-Kit;
  • Designing the research element of the pilot study;
  • Identifying how the toolkit can be used in practice.
➤  Why participate?

Your contribution as a co-researcher is of the utmost importance to develop a toolkit that is tailored to patients’ needs and that can further improve the care for people with cancer. This will allow researchers to learn more about patients’ lived experience and identifying what matters the most to them when it comes to their quality of life.
