Five days to enter our cooking competition

This is just a gentle reminder that there is less than one week to showcase your cooking skills in our competition Cook for The King. This competition, in celebration of the coronation, aims to find a dish that celebrates and showcases Britain in 2023.

It's the perfect way to spend the upcoming bank holiday - and you could get your friends and family to help you too.

Whilst we are looking for an original recipe, it doesn't need to be fancy - and can be a twist on an old classic. The deadline is Monday 10 April at 11pm  - enter now on our website.
What's Your Go-To Dish?

Liz, Head of Communications and Policy, is known for her guacamole. Her coronation dish would be 'Monarchy 'Mole', with the tortilla chips in the shape of a crown.

Margaret Fiddes, Trustee for the Yorkshire and the Humber, would make her 'Royally Good Mousse' which is easy and tastes fab. All you need is eggs and chocolate. It's very versatile - it can be made Kosher or customised with brandy or orange zest.

Nelly, the Communications Officer, loves the British classic, beans on toast. She'd make it fit for a king by adding her favourite spices - coriander, cumin and paprika - and adding halloumi on top.

We want to know - what's your staple dish? Let us know by emailing communications@u3a.org.uk
