Greetings All,

First I would like to thank everyone who was able to make it to Veterans Day on the Hill 2023! We had an amazing turnout. I heard from people who were around decades before me, that it was the best turnout they had ever seen. The energy in the pre-rally lunch and rally in the rotunda was absolutely amazing. We truly are building something special with our advocacy efforts.

As I have said before, Veterans Day on the Hill is not the "achievement" though. It is a tool we use to bring attention to what we want to get done for our Veterans, their families, and survivors. To keep that going we have to stay active until the final gavel drops in a few weeks.

Quick Hit Updates:

Veterans Omnibus- Currently there is a version of the Veterans Omnibus moving in the House, currently waiting at Ways and Means and in the Senate waiting at Finance. There has been some hesitation we've heard regarding moving these as stand-alone bills like they did last year.

We need to be clear we will not accept anything less than a clean Military and Veterans Omnibus. They did it last year, they can do it this year and every year thereafter.

Property Tax Value Exclusion Changes- We are not quite sure what we are going to see out of the Senate just yet, as they haven't started forming their tax bill. In the House, it is promising that they included language to eliminate the 2 year application deadline BUT they have NOT included language yet to increase the value of the exclusion.

The Property Tax Omnibus has been heard in the House and is sitting in the Tax Committee. There is still an opportunity to get the proper language included, but we need to act NOW! We support using the language from HF 236 and SF 772. This would accomplish all of our goals.

You can take action right now by
clicking on this link and sending a clear message to our lawmakers.

Take action today, and tell our lawmakers to act NOW!
