We are happy to announce our recent partnership with SeriesFest, Denver, Colorado - a premier festival that celebrates the art of episodic storytelling.
Our 2022 Emerging 20 (E20) alumni had the opportunity to submit their pitches for consideration in the SeriesFest Pitch-A-Thon, and we are delighted to congratulate Qaseem Fazal and Mahlena-Rae Johnson on being selected. We are proud to see our E20 alumni making their mark in the industry, and we wish them all the best in their pitch presentations.
In addition to this exciting news, we are also proud to announce that we are sending a delegation to SeriesFest, consisting of four of our 2022 E20 alumni: Arshad Khan, Mostafa Shaker, Preeti Torul, and Diane Johnstone. Reelworld program manager Zaarin Bushra will be travelling with them. We are confident that they will represent Reelworld with distinction and make valuable connections within the industry.
"My time with the Reelworld E20 Program was a transformative experience. It not only helped me refine my skills as a writer but also introduced me to industry professionals that led me to being chosen for this year's SeriesFest Pitch-A-Thon, which I am excited to be a part of." - Qaseem Fazal

Congrats to Thea Loo, alumni of the 2021 Producer Program, on her first feature film!
Produced by No More Productions, a partnership between Natalie Murao and Thea Loo, Inay explores how immigration from the Philippines to Canada impacts families and the trauma that separation creates. Joined by her husband, Jeremiah Reyes, as the Director of Photography, the documentary is set for broadcast on the Knowledge Network in the Summer of 2024.
"The process of making this film has been eye opening for my husband and I as we learn more about our parents' immigration and reflect on how that has affected our lives here in Canada." - Thea Loo
