Sprint to the Finish
If the start of the year is defined by the anticipation of what is to come, this time of the year is defined by the flurry of activity that accompanies the spring sports season and the end of the semester. Just this past month, we celebrated NCAA Division III Week, welcomed a group of alums to campus for a LeadBLUE networking event, held Trans Visibility Week at games, and hosted our second ever track & field meet at Butler Stadium!
This weekend, the finish line and the final round will be in focus for our crew, tennis, track & field and golf programs as they compete in conference championships with an eye toward extending their seasons and continuing to sprint into May. The same goes for our club sports, where ultimate frisbee will head to regionals, May 6-7 with the hope of returning to Nationals later next month.
Next Tuesday evening, we will host our annual Awards celebration for our student-athletes at the Keohane Sports Center. We invite you to tune in as we celebrate our year and begin our celebration of the Class of 2023. For a group of seniors that lost so many games, practice and events because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate their time at Wellesley than the busy days, nights and weekends of events and games we have enjoyed over the past several weeks.
