Ladue Students Discuss Global Concerns
Ladue High School had so many students who wanted to participate in Model UN this school year, they decided to organize a Ladue-only MUN session with the help of Civitas. This past Saturday over 35 LHS students met at the Parkview Library Branch to discuss Climate Change, Deforestation, and Nuclear Energy Investment with energy and enthusiasm. Civitas provided the printouts of resolutions sent in by Ladue students earlier in the week, as well as snacks and beverages for the two hour session. It was a great morning!

If your school would like to organize its own Model UN in addition to the ones Civitas offers in the fall and spring, we will help you!
Contact Stephanie at gavinstephanie89@gmail.com to get the date/time/location arranged.

The two winners of the $15 credit to Amazon from those who completed Saturday's evaluation were Eva Kaul and Gabriella Shafman. Congratulations!

Looking for an Additional Model UN experience?
Consider participating in the weekend-long Model UN experience sponsored by Washington University in the fall, September 29th-October 1. Participating in a General Assembly is just one of many options. Other committees and simulations, including historical and current issues facing the UN, are a part of the experience.
Ideally, your school will sign up to bring a delegation. If that's not possible, and you are interested in participating, contact Civitas about how to get involved.
Final In-Person Middle School General Assemblies This Week
Students at the April 27 Model UN General Assembly

The end of the 2022-2023 Middle School MUN program is approaching. We have 2 more in-person sessions this week, in addition to 1 virtual session and the Honors Session.

On Thursday, May 4, students from Assumption School and Visitation Academy will be working together on a number of complicated international issues. Some of their resolutions include stopping gang violence in Haiti, providing aid to Ukraine, & fighting terrorism in Chad.

The next day, Friday, May 5, delegates from Ladue Middle, Lafayette Prep Academy, and Wydown Middle will tackle topics like sending earthquake aid to Turkey and Syria, decreasing crime in Mexico, ensuring access to clean water, and more.

It's going to be an action packed week for these 5 schools! To check out resolutions and photos from all sessions, please click here.

We thank the Saigh Foundation for its continued strong support of our Middle School Model UN program.
