This Sunday: “The Problem with Idols” - Church 04.30.23

The Second of the Ten Commandments is: “No Idols" and is found in Exodus 20:4-6. God has revealed in His Holy Word that He will not tolerate idols in our lives. While you may not be bowing before a shrine filled with figurines or images of false gods/idols, it is possible that something like sports, people's approval, certain posessions, personal appearance or other things could be your idol. The problem with idols is they distance you from experiencing God, distract you from serving God and keep you from delighting in the God.

Come to Rockwell Church at 10:15am this Sunday as Pastor Chris shares Scriptures and examples on how you can be sure to worship God exclusively and not let idols get the the way. You will always come out ahead when you put God first. A great Sunday to invite a friend.

Our church service also live streams online at https://rockwell.church/live Part two in the “Live the 10” message series.

The Art of Neighboring – 9am Sunday School Class 4/30 - 5/23

The Art of Neighboring – Adult Sunday School Class runs from 4/20-5/23. Drop in any week. Led by Pastor Chris & Tim M

What comes to mind when you think about your neighbors? Maybe you don’t know them very well or, if you’re honest, maybe you think the lady across the street is a bit weird. For many of us, it can be tempting to keep our distance and mind our own business in our neighborhood. But is that really how God wants us to live?

As followers of Jesus, we’ve been called to love both God and our neighbors. It’s easier said than done, but if we push past the fear, time barriers, and pride that can keep us from engaging with others, we can build deep connections with the people in our neighborhood and, most importantly, please God.

Next VBS volunteer meetings will be at 6:30 on 5/8, 5/22, 6/5

We will be having Vacation Bible School June 12-16 for ages 4-6th grade. Please contact Kris Engrav or Jessica Madlo with any questions or if you would like to help.
