Michael Kranyak is departing from UP following his recent appointment to interim director of campus safety 8 weeks ago. UP has not announced Kranyak’s successor, yet ensures that the officers will be working to maintain Campus Safety’s role on campus.

From break-ins to stolen vehicles, what has mostly been an off-campus problem has made its way to campus. With many students frustrated with the quick “snatch and grab” thieves, Campus Safety is finding this problem hard to address.

Opinion

OPINION: Photographer Gavin Britton writes that one of the best ways to combat this stress is to stay active. Beyond scientifically known benefits, physical activity allows you to feel grounded. Are you looking to incorporate exercise into your routine?

OPINION: For reporter Noah Carandanis, states that being lonely and being alone are two completely different things. In a world that offers constant socialization and connection, carving out time to be alone can be very difficult.

OPINION: If you’re a student at UP, chances are you’ve taken at least one theology or philosophy class. For reporter Maggie Dapp, she argues that these classes should be an opportunity for students to question their beliefs and not something they dread.

OPINION: The English major is apparently dying — at least that’s what The New Yorker recently reported. However, for DEI Editor Chiara Profenna, she argues that now is the time more than ever to study the humanities.

OPINION: Editorial board member Michael Lang is self-described as pragmatic and sarcastic. While for some, dry humor is not their taste, Lang argues that it intertwines standard, everyday conversations with unique observations and quick thinking.

OPINION: One person's clutter is another's treasure. In a world that preaches minimalism and detachment from material possessions, we sometimes look past the sentimental value of these items. News and Managing editor Kate Cuadrado finds value in her clutter, do you?
