Congratulations to the Malawi Longitudinal Study of Families and Health (MLSFH) Team led by Hans-Peter Kohler (PI) for being awarded the National Institute on Aging (NIA) R01 grant: "Adversity, Aging and ADRD Risk among the Global Poor: A Biosocial Lifecourse Approach" with MPI Lauren L. Schmitz, University of Wisconsin–Madison and additional Co-Investigators at Penn (including PARC Research Associates Jere R. Behrman & Iliana V. Kohler), The University of Malawi College of Medicine, the Invest In Knowledge Initiative, Princeton University, University of British Columbia, and Columbia University. Fight Like a Nerdy Girl: The Dear Pandemic Playbook for Combating Health Misinformation,” a paper co-authored by PSC Research Associate Alison M. Buttenheim, received the American Journal of Health Promotion's Editor in Chief Award.


PSC/ PARC Research Associate Norma B. Coe will be a keynote speaker at the 2023 CEPAR International Conference, July 3-5, 2023 in Sydney Australia. The theme of this year's conference is "Population Aging: Causes, Consequences and Responses." 


Kai Feng, Ph.D. Candidate, Demography & Sociology, received a Penn Prize for Excellence in Teaching by Graduate Students. The fact that students nominate their teachers for this longstanding award makes it a unique honor. 

PSC/PARC Research Associate Matthew D. McHugh was honored with Penn Nursing's Claire M. Fagin Distinguished Researcher Award for his achievements in nursing scholarship; using evidence and policy to shape nurse work environments improve patient outcomes, and advance health equity.

PSC Research Associate Petra Todd is one of five University of Pennsylvania faculty elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences this year. It's a distinction that recognizes professors for their excellence, innovation, leadership, and broad array of accomplishments.
