A Note from Heather . . .

Even though the temperature outside is a million degrees it feels like, summer is almost coming to an end as it is back to school time in our house. This summer seemed to have flown by and while I will miss certain things about summer (hello pool), I am ready for cooler temperatures. I hope that everyone has had a wonderful summer and was able to get out and enjoy all the summer activities.

I want to thank everyone who came to the 2023 NAMA conference back in April. It was great to get together, see old friends, make new ones, laugh, cry and learn. I always hate to see it end, but I look forward to 2025. Your officers are working over the next couple of months to scout out locations, so be on the lookout for an announcement in 2024! Hope you enjoy some highlights from the conference in this newsletter.

There are a few things I would like to share with you. First, we have unexpectedly found ourselves with a vacancy on the board. Muranda Depew was elected as NAMA Secretary/Treasurer, but due to changes in her job situation she is no longer a ministry assistant. NAMA bylaws state that in order to serve as an officer you have to work as a ministry assistant at a church, association or state convention. Amanda Anderson has graciously agreed to take on the role of NAMA Secretary/Treasurer. Amanda is the Financial Secretary at Dayton, FBC and also at the TN Valley Association of Baptists. She has been active with NAMA for a while and we are thankful to have her on the team.

Secondly, NAMA depends on membership dues to cover operating expenses not only during the planning season, but to keep NAMA going (insurance, website fees, etc). If you have not paid your 2023 dues, we encourage you to do that. Dues run from January 1 to December 31 each year.

Lately, please be in prayer not only for your officers, but also for each other. So many of us are dealing with so much from health issues to job issues to personal issues, that we need to lift each other up through prayer and encouragement.

If there is anything that I can do for you please let me know.
