Serve One Another

God has been gracious to us and for this we give Him all praise, thanks, and glory. We have tried to manage the blessings He has bestowed upon us in a God-pleasing way. In certain aspects and at certain times we have done well in this stewardship. But there are instances of neglect and failure too, for which we have the forgiveness of Jesus.

Good stewardship comes as much from seeing and taking opportunities as it does from following good, sound, steady stewardship practices. Many of us have lived in different communities, gone to different churches, and we all go through different phases in life. When time is available, a skill is needed, a position is open, or resources happen to be plentiful there may be a good steward opportunity in the here and now.

Sunday’s stewardship theme for worship and Bible study is “Serve One Another.” By nature, we are selfish, self-centered people who want to do what we desire without interest in serving others.  By God’s grace, we, as redeemed children of God, want to show our gratitude to God for Who He is and what He has done for us through Jesus by serving others.

If you have questions or comments about the study focus on stewardship please contact Greg Sinatra, Ward Irvin or Pastor.

Subscribe to the Lutheran Witness Magazine

The Lutheran Witness magazine is published monthly by the LCMS. It is an excellent resource for continuing your education and growth in the teachings of the confessional Lutheran church. It will provide you with Christian guidance on how to think about and address current worldly trends. It is a great resource for families to sit down together and talk about what the Bible says about God, our salvation, and the world.

For instance, the current April 2023 issue has articles on marriage, the resurrection, what it means to be “woke” and more. Pick up a complimentary copy of the current issue in the narthex after church and see for yourself. Click on this link to see a March issue article on
Being Distinctly Lutheran: A Life Worth Living.

The yearly subscription price with the church is $20, a savings of $5 over the newsstand price. Sign-up or resubscribe for your subscription by May 1. Give Janice Schaag

Faith needs new phones!

OK, so maybe it's not quite this old, but our phone system at Faith is very old - it was installed in 2007!  With the new infrastructure going in which will support it, it's time to look for a new phone system.  We're looking for people who can help solicit and evaluate bids for a new VOIP phone system (because Janice only knows how to use phones, no frame of reference for evaluating systems!).  Are you a phone systems guru? (Is it a VOIP we need or is there something which would better fit our needs?)  Know one who would like to help us out?  If you or someone you know would like to help, please let Janice Schaag know.
Mission of the Month - March, April & May
First Care Women’s Clinic

First Care Women’s Clinic is an evangelical Christian non-profit organization that was established to reduce abortion by giving the support and information that people need to choose life.

We will be collecting items for the Baby Boutique. There is a basket in the school lobby for donations as well as the church narthex.

The Baby Boutique supports women who have chosen life by providing practical assistance. Clients who attend our Parenting and Prenatal Classes are able to participate in a class baby-shower where they receive new items to help with the first months of motherhood. Through a variety of ongoing classes, mothers earn “points” and are able to use them to shop the boutique. All items provided are free.

Faith's Food Pantry

Brumby again served 275 to 300 families on April 25th. We delivered 210 food bags and 210 toiletry bags on April 4th. Our next delivery will be May 30th, which will be the first week school is out.

Below are advertised grocery prices for Publix, Kroger, Aldi, LIdl, and Walmart. The sales ads run from
April 26th through May 2nd.

The pantry needs
peanut butter, jellycorn bread mix (Jiffy, etc.), Tuna Helper,  pasta and pasta sauce,  canned meats,  canned chili and pasta,  cereal, 2nd breakfast items like breakfast bars and pop-tarts, and pudding cups as our shelves need to be restocked to make more bags. Toiletry items are always needed - bath wash, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant. We are hoping to make and deliver our next toiletry bags the end of July for back to school. Also, we are collecting re-useable grocery bags for our Senior bags so we can keep them separated from the other food bags. If you have any bags you are not using, please put them in the basket in the narthex or the blue bin under the mailboxes. Thank you.
