This past weekend, school board members and I spent some time with Dr. Lee Pritzl from Elevated Performance 4U. Together, we engaged in exercises and conversations that were both fun and purposeful, designed to build trust, relationships, and the overall functionality of our team. This time together is absolutely vital to the future of our school district as the board works to navigate many important decisions ahead.
Based on our continued work together, I can honestly say that I believe we have seven individuals who are here for the right reasons. They believe in the mission, vision, and core values of the District, and collectively they want to make the best decisions for Waconia students, staff, and families.

Community Education Presentation
Community Education staff Steven Jensen, Jenny Merritt and Ashley Karels shared a presentation about Kids' Company programming including information regarding registration, employment opportunities, and summer 2023 programming.
Middle School Science Curriculum Recommendation Approved
After hearing a presentation from Sarah Klitzke and Tim Koschinska at the April 11 Work Session, the Board approved the recommendation to adopt OpenSciEd as the grades 6-8 core science curriculum.
Looking Ahead
At the May 8 Work Session, Interim Director of Teaching & Learning Sarah Klitzke will present refinement of practices and the peer review process that are part of the District's Professional Growth Reflection & Evaluation (PGRE) plan.
Teaching & Learning Managers Jake Hockinson and Tim Koschinska will present information and details about the District's K-8 targeted services summer school and 9-12 credit recovery programs.
