More information about the event:
Our quest to bring the intellectual life of Princeton to its alumni continues, with our annual Pre-read event. This year, it's a special in-person event with the author.
We will read the short book assigned by President Eisgruber this year to all incoming undergrads. Then, as the Class of 2026 did on campus, we will gather in person to discuss the book with the author in person. Fresh off a 1-year stint as a National Geographic resident writer, Jordan Salama '19 will travel to London to join us.
This year's book is Every Day the River Changes: Four Weeks Down the Magdalena. Salama recounts his experiences travelling along the Magdalena River in Colombia as an undergraduate. He describes the people he met and the cultures he encountered during his travels with distinctive warmth and empathy. President Eisgruber's special forward is here.
We also have a WhatsApp group for the London-based events. Please click here to join.
