Dear Reader,

It is often said that a week is a long time in politics - so how about the pace of change in the tech world? The debate surrounding AI's impact on everyday life has become increasingly complex and nuanced. As we navigate a rapidly evolving landscape, at the 3CL we will be facilitating informed discussions about the role and impact of Generative AI on education, the world of work and society at large - and young people in particular.
Generative AI: What does it mean for the future of learning?
Join us for a workshop at the Valletta Design Cluster at 17.30 on 3rd May 2023. Facilitated by Learning Science Practitioner Dr Emma Pauncefort, our invited experts will discuss an early stage research project on how young learners are using ChatGPT and other AI tools, and answer practical questions on the Generative AI hype cycle. Our panel includes Dr Vanessa CamilleriProf Joshua Ellul and Dr Gege Gatt. This is a free in-person event with limited places, so please register here for a ticket.
#Spare_A_Minute
Help us make the Humans & Machines workshop more relevant to your interests and contribute to our ongoing research. Leave us a voice note that answers the following three questions:
  1. Are AI tools useful for learning?
  2. Does ChatGPT spell the end of education?
  3. How could younger learners use AI tools mindfully, as part of their learning journey?
For an an idea of what we are looking for, check out this example in response to one of the questions.
If you have a project idea related to Edtech and would like to join us as a stakeholder, partner and/or expert, please get in touch.
