1Life Learning Hub Fleetwood CRC in Surrey, BC
Keynote Speaker: Andrew Root
Andy is a practical theologian/social theorist (Luther Seminary, St. Paul MN) and the author of many books, including a provocative four volume Ministry in a Secular Age series. Hosts: 1Life curators and Larry Doornbos from Vibrant Congregations.
Target Audience: anyone in our BC CRCs and beyond looking to share a rich time of connection, joy and learning around the renewing center of our one life in Christ, a vision of ministry beyond programming & burnout. (youth & young adult ministry leaders track available)

Wondering if the 1Life Foundations conference is for you? (see above)
Check out the links below. See what has ‘resonance’ (Andy’s term for the fullness of time, the sacred time, we’re truly looking for in all our exhausted busyness.) Then think again about joining Andy and the 1Life team on May 12-14. And tell a friend or your church leadership team.
We promise. This is not a conference with ‘4 quick lessons’ or ‘3 easy tricks’ for anything. Just bringing to God what we’ve done, what we’ve built, what we’ve broken to the One Who holds it all.

Conversations on Hopeful Citizenship in a Divided World

LDN Final Retreat
LDN hosted it's final retreat on April 22 & 23, with a great group of individuals who have completed their 3rd and final year of theological training. A dinner at the Jerusalem Grill included much conversation about the afternoon drama from the book of Job. Many thanks to Wilma for her faithful leadership over many years. The 1Life team looks forward to seeing how God will direct our participation in the equipping lay leaders in our CRC's goes in the future. |

Time to Reflect and Plan
Mid-April, the 1Life team gathered at South Gardens in Agassiz for a two-day planning and review retreat. BC equippers who lived locally came for dinner and an evening of discussion and shared prayer. We engaged in rich conversation with Canadian denominational staff and other stakeholders. We also played games and hiked the mountain. The retreat was a good reminder of God's faithfulness as the team continues to effectively curate for the BC churches. |
