Voices on Vital Topics
Virtual Speaker Series
"National Popular Vote"
Wednesday, April 19 | 7:00 pm

The fourth and final installation of our Voices on Vital Topics Virtual Speaker Series will take place tomorrow on Wednesday, April 19 at 7:00 pm. Join us as we host Judy Karandjeff, the immediate past President of The League of Women Voters of Michigan and current LWVMI Advocacy Chair as we learn about National Popular Vote.

Since the early 1970s, the national League of Women Voters has taken a position that direct election of the president by popular vote is essential to representative government. This can be achieved through the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. This compact is an agreement among the states that guarantees the U.S. presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states and D.C. Legislation was introduced March 1 in Michigan, that if passed would add Michigan to this compact

Join us tomorrow (April 19) at 7:00 pm via Zoom as Judy Karandjeff explains National Popular Vote (NPV), dispels some myths and misconceptions about NPV, and discusses how we can support efforts that are currently underway in Michigan.

This event is open to LWV members, as well as anyone that is interested in learning more about National Popular Vote. Please invite a friend our two to join us for this upcoming virtual event.
