Bye Bye Norway Maples, Hello Native Trees!
With the help of over 20 volunteers, close to 30 native trees were planted at Harriet Wetherill Park on April 8th in the old wooded section. ~25 invasive Norway Maples were recently removed here.
Volunteers planted native oaks and hickories, pulled invasive privets and honeysuckles, and admired various spring ephemerals including a hillside of trout lily (Erythronium americanum).
Thank you to all who joined us!
