A speedy sloth, composting worm farms and a magical possum....that's the month of May at the library.

International Compost Awareness Week is in May - yes that's right, we are excited about compost and all the wonderful benefits it has for our gardens and our planet. Join the Shire of Esperance Waste Education team at the library on Wednesday 17 May to make your own worm farm in a jar. 🌏🌱

May is also the month for National Simultaneous Storytime. Join our Children's Library Officer, Michelle at Esperance Playgroup for this nation wide reading event.

The classic children's story 'Possum Magic' will be coming to the Civic Centre stage in May. Before you see the stage show, come along to the library for a special afterschool story time session themed around this magical children's book. ✨

In support of National eSmart Week, this month's Tech Talk Tuesday will be focusing on digital hygiene. What is digital hygiene you may wonder? Well it is all about keeping your device up to date, secure and backing up your data. If this sounds like something you would like to know more about, pop in on Tuesday 23 May to learn some great tips.

What is National Simultaneous Storytime?

NSS is an important annual campaign that aims to encourage young children to read and enjoy books as well as teach them the value of literacy.

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

Join Michelle at playgroup for this Australia wide event.
