Dance is love, and making dance accessible and inclusive is how we show our love.

Art as Action centers people with Parkinson’s, creating spaces where participants feel considered and supported from the moment they arrive.

These spaces are physically/emotionally safe and comfortable, allowing our dancers the freedom to surrender to the flow of dancing instead of having to focus on having their needs met.

Dancers have the agency to modify choreography to feel good in their bodies, instead of conforming to specific shapes and movements, which is also an opportunity for innovation and creativity.

Art as Action is collaborative at every level - the majority of our board of directors is people with Parkinson’s, ensuring that a diversity of voices is integrated into organizational decisions.

Support our unparalleled accessibility and inclusivity in dance with a donation to Art as Action’s annual fundraiser.

Art as Action is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible.

OUR MISSION: Art as Action brings people together at the intersection of dance, (dis)ability and creative potential.

We are proud to be a Tier III Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) organization.

Art as Action is funded in part by a generous grant from Community ACTS Fund, which reflects the reality that arts and cultural philanthropy has not equitably supported our state’s evolving cultural landscape. As our communities continue to diversify, the fund is dedicated to fostering growth and sharing resources with the Tier III organizations uniquely fit to serve them.
