With the upcoming Freedom Day public holiday falling on Thursday and a school holiday on Friday, we remind everyone that the following week includes another public holiday on 1 May. Despite these breaks, we are committed to maintaining our academic programme as much as possible on the days that we are at school.

For those who will be joining us for the Grey trip, we would like to extend an invitation to attend a launch meeting on Wednesday. This meeting will be an opportunity for all boys and their parents to complete any necessary administrative tasks without disrupting our regular school programme. Parents can expect a general information session while boys will have a chance to understand the bus allocations, team allocations, confirming hosting arrangements, and more. Please make every effort to attend this meeting, and note that boys do not need to come in school uniform. The entire programme should conclude by 19h00.

Additionally, a series of Parent Teacher Meetings are underway. Teachers have scheduled meetings with parents with whom they would like to engage. If you have not been included but would like to meet your son's teacher, please do not hesitate to contact them and arrange a meeting.

Finally, we would like to wish all Muslim members of our community a happy Eid al-Fitr weekend.

Grade R
This week the Grade Rs had loads of fun revising their letters by using Bee-Bots. They have been learning great communication skills by working in pairs to figure out the code to get their Bee-Bot to the next letter. Grade Rs have been loving the Bee-Bots and they are catching onto the concept of coding very quickly.
Art
A reminder that all Grade 6 and 7 boys need a visual journal/drawing book for their class lessons.
Drama
Our Taming of the Shrew cast will attend a Cast Workshop at the Star Theatre on Friday. They will learn about the ins and outs of a theatre, be introduced to various acting styles, how to become their character, and much more.

Ticket sales for the Schools Shakespeare Festival are now open. Please support our boys on Monday, 22 May,
and get your tickets online.

Hockey
On Friday, 14 April, the U13A played in a tournament hosted by Van Riebeeck Primary School. The boys played against Curro Langebaan and after mastering the grass surface they won the match 2 - 0. Well done to all who participated and thank you to the coaches who accompanied them.

A reminder that both morning and afternoon practices are compulsory for all boys who signed up for hockey this year. A register will be taken at each session. All goalkeepers are expected to attend the practice sessions on a Friday from 13h45 - 14h45 on mini astro 1.
Rugby
On Saturday morning the U13 Rugby squad travelled through to Melkbostrand to play two fixtures at the Van Riebeeckstrand Preparation Festival. Unfortunately, we did not fare well on the day but valuable lessons were drawn from the two games.
Squash
Our winter league was scheduled to start next week, but due to the Grade 5 Camp and a short week, we will be postponing the matches until later in the term.
