ACCIDENT UPDATE
4/20/23

Dear Friends,

As you may know, I had a bad fall a couple weeks ago due to tripping on a rug at a store. Diagnosis was a compression fracture in my back. That first week was very difficult to get through because I was in extreme pain. 

I am still having some severe pain issues in the middle of my back between my shoulder blades. 

I went to the neurosurgeon this morning. They took more X-rays and are scheduling me to get a CT scan on the area where the most of the pain is. After that scan clears up for them to know exactly where they mostly need to support my back, then they will issue a back brace.

They said healing for such an injury can take about three months. It’s pretty much has to heal itself.

Meanwhile I’m home and continuing to work on my book. Keeps me from going stir crazy. LOL. 

Hoping to get back on the trail by July. Will keep you informed as details emerge. Right now traveling isn’t recommended.
