Lessons from Licensing

Adult use licensees are reminded that they may transfer ownership interests or control, including without limitation partial ownership, only after the application for a transfer of ownership interests or principals has been approved by the Department. More information is available in the Adult Use Cannabis Program Rule, 18-691 C.M.R. Chapter 1, Section 2.11.1.

Compliance Corner

Since adding pesticides to the mandatory testing for adult use cannabis, OCP has seen many failed tests with the prohibited pesticide, piperonyl butoxide (PBO). OCP’s Compliance Team has learned that some adult use cultivators are using a “bomb” type pesticide that contains PBO before starting a grow room. This is a reminder that PBO is a prohibited pesticide, and applying any pesticide using a bomb method, or other application methods, leaves residue that will remain in the room and could affect your plants.
Don't forget! After June 12, 2023, all adult use cannabis flower, trim, and concentrate must pass mandatory testing for pesticides before being being further manufactured or transferred to retail for sale to consumers, including any inventory of cannabis flower, trim, or concentrate that passed all mandatory testing required before December 12, 2022. Learn more.

Municipal Reminders

OCP's Municipal Reimbursement Program helps reimburse municipalities for qualifying expenses associated with opting to permit adult use cannabis establishments. This includes legal fees, staff time, and more!
