Show us your Rosser pots!

If you own a piece of pottery by Arthur or Carol Rosser, we’d like to loan it for our latest exhibition!
Artspace Mackay’s latest exhibition celebrates their beautiful work, and will include a special display shelf dedicated to Rosser pots that belong to members of our community.
If you have an item made by Arthur or Carol that has their potter’s mark (AR or CR) and you’re happy to loan it for the duration of our exhibition Fire and Ash: Woodfire Pottery of Arthur and Carol Rosser (May 19 to August 13, 2023) please bring it to the gallery on Wednesday, May 3, 10am – 5pm (and share a message about your pot).

Public Art Walk
Friday, May 5, 4.30pm
Hosted by Artspace Mackay Public Art Officer, Jennifer Dalton-Smith, this free city art walk for all ages begins at Artspace Mackay and takes you through the city centre.
Along the way, participants will learn about Mackay’s iconic public art installations, and the local, and internationally acclaimed artists who created them.

Kids Art Club Term 2
Saturday, May 6 to June 10, 10am - noon
If you’re 8 to 12 years old and love making art, Kids Art Club, Artspace Mackay’s ongoing term-based Saturday art program is just for you! In Term 2, local artist Rosemary Payne will deliver this rich six-week program of creative art for kids.
$180 per child (8 to 12 yrs.) for six weeks (includes all materials).

Conversations with Art
Friday, May 19, 1pm - 2.30pm
Held on the third Friday of each month, Conversations with Art is a free and enjoyable discussion led by Artspace staff as we look at works on show and images from gallery and museum collections.
Whether you’re an artist, an art and language lover, beginner, or expert, we’d love you to join us.
It’s an inclusive, thought provoking and satisfying way to spend an afternoon!

BMA Kidspace

First art session: 10am - 11.30am
Music session: 11.30am - 12.15pm
Second art session: 12.15pm - 2pm
BMA Kidspace, our ever-popular FREE toddlers’ program, gives children under five a chance to explore and have fun with art in a climate of co-operative learning.
Bring your toddlers along for a fun day of artmaking, singing and dancing, drop-in anytime from 10am to 2pm and stay as long as you’d like.
