As recently announced by the Minister for Health, free influenza vaccines will be available for all persons in Western Australia including those who are not otherwise eligible for government-funded influenza vaccines. This program will run from 1 May to 31 May 2023. This is a great opportunity for people to protect themselves and others against influenza.
The Free Influenza Vaccine in May 2023 Program will be delivered through participating General Practices (GP), community pharmacies, and Aboriginal Medical Services (AMSs) who will provide free influenza vaccines. A reimbursement scheme is available for immunisation providers who administer privately purchased influenza vaccines at no-cost to patients. Note: this is for privately purchased influenza vaccines and WA Department of Health will not supply influenza vaccines for the May program.
Immunisation Provider Reimbursement
Participating GPs and AMSs must register for the reimbursement before 5pm Wednesday 31 May 2023. Invitations to register will be sent to GPs and AMSs with Onelink account email addresses. Those without a Onelink account should request a registration link from influenza.reimbursement@health.wa.gov.au.
