A murmuration of starlings which appears to look like a bird in flight, over an orange sky at sunset, with the earth in silhouette below.

Hi there,

What does a murmuration have to do with trauma, the body, the breath?

Have you ever stopped to watch a murmuration of starlings? Have you felt the wonder of it in your body? Why does it feel so soothing to watch a flock of birds?

Our bodies are like that — innumerable parts, working together, in an emergent behaviour, that seems unfathomable.

When we encounter trauma we may stop feeling that sense of flow. It may come and go, but often we can’t understand what is happening or why.

Laura Beth Wenger and I have developed a model that can give you a place to start when you feel stuck, and some tools to use. Beginning tonight and over the next weeks (4 Wednesday evenings with 12 practices in between) we’ll go through the model, we’ll touch on some breathing science, and we’ll move and breathe together.

Re-Inspired: A Somatic Study of Traumatic Stress & the Breath

Join Laura and me for 4 webinars on Wednesday evenings (7–8pm ET).

As well, because the somatic experience is vital, there will be 4 short weekday morning practices between each webinar (Thurs, Fri, Mon, Tues, 7:30–7:45am ET).

Of course, everything will be recorded and available for viewing through the end of June.

It starts tonight. Sign up now.

Warmly,
Jennifer

p.s. This course isn’t design to diagnose or treat personal mental health issues. Please do join us, but if this is you, please also ensure that you have resources to support you.
