We send Mother’s Day blessings to all the mother figures in our lives and remember all those who have gone before us with peace. We offer this Mother’s Day prayer for Those Who Are.

Welcome Sister Laura & Sister Dianne!

We are thrilled to welcome Sister Laura (left photo) and Sister Dianne (right photo) to Our Lady of the Angels Motherhouse. Sister Laura and Sister Dianne are Poor Clare Sisters from Saginaw, Michigan.

After the closing of their home in Michigan, Sister Laura and Sister Dianne discerned where God was calling them next. After many conversations with the Wheaton Franciscans and visits to the Community, a mutual decision was made that Our Lady of the Angels would become their new home. Please join us in welcoming them to our community of faith!

We Ask For Your Prayers

Thursday, May 18, through Saturday, May 20, Wheaton Franciscan Sisters and Covenant Companions will gather in Pre-assembly meetings.

Please pray with and for the Wheaton Franciscans as we come together to grow in grace and gratitude for our many blessings, to be open to the Spirit and each other, to be creative and courageous about what we are yet called to be and do, and to embrace our flourishing future with open hearts.

Sign the petition: Don’t militarize our schools

Dear Friends,

With the latest round of mass shootings, including the one at Covenant School in Tennessee, some lawmakers are advocating arming teachers. This would make school shootings even harder to deal with since it would be difficult for first responders to identify the shooter. It also creates an escalation of violence in our society. Please read and sign the petition if you feel arming teachers and militarizing our schools would put our young people at even greater risk.

Sign On: Pass the People Over Pentagon Act!

In the budget process last year, Congress gave the Pentagon nearly 25 billion dollars more than was requested in the proposed Biden Administration budget. Yet, Congress now wants to cut projects that benefit the most needed of our people in order to “address the federal debt.” It is time for us to tell all our Representatives and Senators to prioritize people over the Pentagon.

Even the Federal General Accounting Office (GAO) recently issued a report saying that 1 trillion dollars could be cut from the Pentagon budget over the next 10 years without any significant effect on our national security. That means $100 billion dollars per year—with no effect on our security! Please click the button below and consider signing your support for the Passage of the People Over Pentagon Act.
