CyberWest Summit 2023 kicked off yesterday morning. The rain didn't scare anyone yesterday with a massive turnout of 427 attendees to be exact.
We started the day with a beautiful Welcome to Country from Ingrid Cumming, followed by an opening address from The Hon. Stephen Dawson MLC, Minister for Innovation and the Digital Economy. Next, we got a look under the hood of Australia's National Plan for Cyber and how International Engagement will play a part in that from Sally Dawkins, Director, WA State Office, DFAT. What then proceeded was a jam-packed and engaging day of workshops, talks and walks through the exhibition area. We are honoured guests from all over Australia and The World for CyberWest Summit 2023. A special thanks to our India Delegation who we know will play a part in our future strategies for the region.
Troy Hunt's keynote definitely got everyone looking at their password management. A good tip from his talk was to have a security contact linked to your company website. It's as simple as setting up a public page that lists your contact details if anyone identifies a threat or vulnerability. Remember it's never too late to check if you have been pwned.
