VBS Day of Prayer

This coming Sunday is a special day for UHBC. After the diligent work of many church members, we have new carpet in the Worship Center! Thank you to everyone who came together to organize the install, prepare the space, set up the Fellowship Hall, meet in temporary locations for Connect Groups, and set things back up in the Worship Center! Lord willing, we will be meeting back in the Worship Center this coming Sunday! I can’t wait to worship, study the word, and fellowship with you in that space again! It will be awesome!

This Sunday is special for another reason as well! We will be joining with churches all over the world to kick off a season of prayer for Vacation Bible School leading up to the week of July 17! VBS is an exciting time for UHBC! In the midst of all of the fun, laughing, and fellowship… God is at work in significant ways through this ministry endeavor to help us reach all people for Christ and grow a unified body of believers for His glory!

REACHING ALL PEOPLE: VBS connects families in our community with our church members and the Gospel of Jesus! During VBS God will be building bridges in the community and will open the hearts of kids, siblings, parents, grandparents, and guardians to saving faith in Jesus! He will use your prayers to accomplish this!

GROW A UNIFIED BODY: VBS gives our church family an opportunity to work closely together for an awesome week of ministry. During VBS God will be strengthening Gospel friendships, reconciling members with one another, and using this time of fellowship to grow us in Christlikeness. He will use your prayers to accomplish this!

FOR THE GLORY OF GOD: As we pray, God will get all of the glory… for every person who turns to Christ, for every member that serves with joy, and for every miracle He does in our church and community during this VBS season! He will use your prayers to accomplish this!

So, on the new carpet this Sunday… let’s pour our hearts out in prayer for VBS at UHBC, and for churches all over Charlotte and the world!. Let this Day of Prayer for VBS spark ongoing prayer for VBS as we prepare for the Lord to do an awesome work the week of July 17!

UHBC Family,

I wanted to notify you of a change in the 2023 Annie Armstrong Offering announcement that was made during the worship service on April 16. It came to our attention after the count was announced that there had been a miscommunication. The number announced included the entire offering for the day, rather than solely Annie Armstrong giving and undesignated funds. The actual amount given to Annie Armstrong that morning was $8,720.00. I want to emphasize that no errors were made in how funds were processed. We are notifying you that the verbal announcement had an incorrect number.
"Hallelujah!" that we surpassed our original 2023 goal of $15,000, with a total of $17,897.21. Thank you again for your faithful giving to UHBC and all the ways the Lord is working in and through our church body. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to Stewardship.

Thanks,
Joe Bridgeman
Stewardship Committee Chairperson
