Together for Wellness Project !

Together for Wellness/Juntos seeks to create a repository of digital resources that will support and improve people’s mental health and wellbeing. To accomplish this, we created a website--Together for Wellness | Mental Health and Wellness Tips for Today (ucla.edu)—that will host a variety of digital mental health resources such as crisis help, de-stressing exercises, educational videos, and links to organizations where you can find help.

We are currently in Phase 3 of the project which focuses on quality improvement of the website based on input and feedback from community through the following advisory groups:

If you think you may be interested in joining one of the above advisory groups, please see the advisory group flyers and/or contact Daniela Flores at dfloresromero@mednet.ucla.edu.

The public health emergency (PHE) expired on May 11th, 2023.  Many will see changes in COVID-19 healthcare costs, insurance coverage and renewals, and food benefits. These changes are likely to disproportionately impact some refugee, immigrant, and migrant (RIM) communities.

Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental Health America is excited to announce the release of the Mental Health May 2023 Toolkit!

This year the theme is Look Around, Look Within. As humans, our overall health is significantly impacted by our natural and built environment. The places we live, work, play, and congregate all have a powerful influence on our well-being, and it's important to consider their effects on our mental health. We invite you to Look Around, Look Within with the free 2023 May is Mental Health Month toolkit.

The toolkit provides practical resources on how to support your mental health and the health of those in your community. The topics include:

🧠 What is a mentally healthy and safe space?

🌳 How can I change my surroundings to support my mental health?

🏘️ What if I can’t control or change something unhealthy about my surroundings?

Early bird registration is now open for the 2023 Mental Health America Conference!

With over 30 live streamed workshops, plenary sessions, and special events, the Mental Health America Conference is an important opportunity to connect with mental health champions and advocates. This year, we will focus on promoting lived experience, advancing health equity, and centering the social determinants of mental health. We will explore the ways these topics intersect with our collective efforts to promote well-being, prevent illness, increase resilience, and foster recovery – all at population scale – with a focus on Next Gen Prevention.
