East End United Friday Edition

Sunday Worship May 14th, 10:30 a.m.
Online & in-person at Glen Rhodes Campus, 1470 Gerrard St. E
"Another Mystery!"
East End is blessed with many resident theologians and gifted preachers -- this week, our own Susan Wakefield will be leading us in worship as she reflects on the enduring mystery and meaning of Easter (timely, as the Season of Easter is rapidly drawing to a close).  Susan will be joined by Marian, Fraser, Julez, and Joan, along with the music leadership from Stephan and the choir.  We meet in-person at Glen Rhodes and online via  Zoom, at 10:30.

Join us online for Rise & Shine at 10am and online Coffee Hour after church. The same Zoom Link is used for Rise & Shine, Church and Coffee Hour.
Occasional Fellowship at Occasions!

After worship (and coffee) on Sundays, a whole gang of of folks head over to Occasions just two short blocks east of Glen Rhodes.  This is a long-standing and beloved tradition!  Last week 22 of us gather..red over a tasty, reasonably-priced lunch.  If you haven't yet come along, please don't be shy, we'd love to see you there! (Many of us think of Occasions as just an extension of the Glen Rhodes Campus).
We love our online worshippers and members!  They are an essential part of our fatih community. But, to serve them well, we need a few more volunteers to helm Zoom and the tech on Sundays!  It isn't really that difficult (but it does have its moments), and Fiona will guide you with a gentle hand. Currently we have a few volunteers and ideally two more would make everyone's life easier and ensure our online friends have a good connection.  Please speak to or email Fiona or Rev. Dan.

East End on Two Wheels East End is a cycling group composed of cycling lovers who crave fresh air, want to keep in shape by biking and enjoy making friendships with people from our church and wider community. The group goes cycling on various scenic trails around the city every Thursday morning (rain date Friday). We typically have 8 – 12 cyclists on our outings and trips are chosen where the elevation climbs are minimal.

Thank You For Your Continuing Support!
Out of the Cold has finished its Friday night meals, clothing and toiletries distribution, haircuts, overnights and breakfasts for the season.  Thank you to the awesome East Enders and community members who helped by volunteering their time, their talents, and their support to enable us to help our community - it takes a village!

We are collecting items for our room kits and items to restock our depleted clothing room storage on an ongoing basis - jeans, hoodies, t-shirts, warm clothing - we need it all! please hold our guests in your prayers and continue to support as you are able.

Share the Care for an Hour

Be the face of East End United when people gather for food at Nourish. Join one of our current "sidewalk presence" ministers for an hour to meet and greet those who come to either of our food ministry programs. Receive a warm welcome from clients and volunteers while you get an up-close perspective on this part of our congregational life. Tell someone else about your experience later to spread awareness of a pressing social issue.

Wednesdays at 9:05 - 10 a.m., with Robin Wardlaw at the Glen Rhodes Campus

Only one volunteer per site per week, thank you!
