Would you like to be part of a team to go to Nelson to help support the Richmond Chinese Church? On each team we need someone to preach, someone to translate, and someone to lead the praise and worship. These are the 3 core services that we can help with, as well as encouraging the Church brothers and sisters, praying with them and supporting them.
If you feel God leading you to join a team, please talk to Bro. Ricky Wong or one of our Mission Committee in our Morning service, or Sis Deborah Ho in our Cantonese Congregation.
Usually the team drives up on Saturday and return on Monday, or up on Friday back on Sunday night.
The dates for our Nelson Mission trips are;
- May 27-28 (This month’s team already has enough people)
- June 24-25
- July 21-23
- Aug 25-27

Our Church AGM will be in 2 parts.
- This Saturday May 20, 11:00am; A report will be given on the finances of the Church. All are welcome to attend this meeting.
- This Sat/Sunday May 20-21 voting in each of our 4 services. All Church members are asked to vote to approve the financial report for the past year and to approve the proposed budget for the coming year. There are no other matters to vote on except Congregational Committees in Mandarin and Cantonese Congregation.

Mandarin Congregation Committee
This Sunday all the Church members in our Mandarin Congregation are asked to vote to ratify the 4 nominations we have for the 4 vacant positions in our Committee.
Below are the 4 members who have been nominated and are willing to serve on our Committee. Thank God for their willing heart.
And thank God for our Committee who have worked so hard of the past 2 years. Six members will stay on for one more year; Michael Wang, Charles Li, Jack Liu, Isaac Zhang, Annie Geng and Maggie Lee.
Four members will step down after faithfully serving for the past 2 years; Lisha Li, Vivian Feng, Jacky Ho and Gao Yan.
Thank you Lord for each of these faithful Brothers and Sisters. Please bless them and their family.

Encounter Congregation Leader/Pastor
Christchurch Community Church –
“Encounter” is one of the 4 congregations of the Christchurch Community Church, and was established 8 years ago to minister primarily to, and reach out to, second and third generation Asians living in NZ, and to the wider English speaking Community.
We are seeking someone who;
- Loves God and His church and is called by God to raise up next generation young people
- Is passionate about the Gospel and mission, and the preaching/teaching of the Word of God.
- Is sensitive to, and empowered by, the Holy Spirit to serve, lead, disciple, and grow the church; the community of Encounter.
- Is committed to leading relationally with integrity and transparency, to journey with and empower the community of Encounter.
- Is able to work collaboratively with the staff team of the wider Church.
- Has a heart for the wider Kingdom of God and the wider community.
- Understands the next generation of Asians in New Zealand and is able to connect with them in a way that speaks to their needs and aspirations.
- Does not lean on their own understanding but seeks the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit through prayer, intimacy with God and fellowship with others.
Encounter Leader/Pastor;
- Will work in conjunction with the governing board of the Church (Church Council Board)

- Will ideally have a solid foundation of theological training and 3 years of experience in full time church ministry.
- Ideally be able to take up this role mid 2023
